Many shelters and rescues rely on volunteer support. Call your
local shelter or rescue and ask what you can do to help. You
can also check out online organizations such as http://www.
volunteermatch.org/ to help you find a rescue or shelter near
you. http://www.1-800-save-a-pet.com/ has a “Lend a Helping
Paw” area where you can fill out a Volunteer Profile.

Support
Donate to a shelter, rescue or other Bully-friendly organization.
Some sites offer sponsoring opportunities to help specific dogs
that have special needs or medical problems. Contact your
local shelter to see what they need. Many shelters count on
donations of blankets, dog food, cleaning supplies and other
items necessary to keep a shelter running.

Foster
Shelter life can be very stressful on any animal. Some dogs
develop behavior problems in shelters, making them less
adoptable. You can help by keeping a dog in a home
environment until they can find their forever family. If you are
interested in fostering for Hello Bully, please fill out our foster
agreement
here. Our fosters help keep dogs out of the shelter
system until we can find them a great home.

Adopt
There are countless Bullies who are homeless and just waiting
for the chance to steal your heart. Please do your homework
before adopting. When you adopt a pet, you are making a
lifelong commitment. If you are thinking of buying from a
breeder, please reconsider. Every dog purchased from a
breeder is one less home available for a homeless animal. Be a
part of the solution. Over 25% of shelter and rescue animals
are purebred, so no matter what you are looking for – you are
likely to find it.

Ambassador
Be a breed ambassador. If you are planning on being a Bully
owner, be a responsible one. Bring your dogs to training
classes, and if possible, have them achieve the Canine Good
Citizen Award. This shows the public that these dogs are not
the vicious creatures that are portrayed by the media.

Speuter
Every pet should be spayed or neutered. Do not contribute to
the problem of homeless animals by allowing yours to
reproduce. The "Just One Litter" mentality is a huge
contribution or to overpopulation. More than 7 million animals
are killed each year because of a lack of good homes. There
are also countless heath benefits for your animal, including a
lowered risk of many cancers as well as a decrease in desire to
roam. You can find affordable services in your area by visiting
