FRONT CLIP HARNESSES ARE HERE!
Front clip harnesses are great for dogs who pull. Because the leash attaches at
the chest, when the dog puts tension on the leash, the dog will automatically turn
back towards you. Because the harness is self correcting, your dog will quickly
learn that pulling is not productive.
Fitting Your Front Clip Harness to Your Dog
The Front Clip Harness has three main straps:
1. The chest strap has a metal ring in its center between two adjustment slides.
Your leash will attach to the top of the ring when the harness in on your dog. The
ring should be centered on the chest strap when it is adjusted properly.
2. The wither strap has an adjustment slide and a plastic buckle and is the same
color as the chest strap. The plastic buckle will be on your dog’s right side when
the harness is on correctly.
3. The girth strap also has an adjustment slide and a plastic buckle. To
differentiate it from the wither strap, the girth strap is black. The girth strap
buckles on your dog’s right side, just below the buckle for the wither strap.
When the harness is fitted properly to your dog, the wither and girth straps will be
in a straight line, and the chest strap will be perpendicular to the other two straps.
The harness should fit snugly enough so you can just slide two fingers underneath
any strap. If your adjustment is too tight, it may chafe your dog; if it is too loose,
the harness will move too much on your dog’s body and not work effectively. The
chest strap will cross over your dog’s shoulder blades and run just above the top
of his breast bone; to alter the height of the breast strap, take in or let out the
wither strap until you have the correct adjustment.

MEDIUM Chest 11-15 inches Girth 22-29 inches
LARGE Chest 13.5-20 inches Girth 25-35 inches
EXTRA LARGE Chest 15.5-22.5 inches Girth 30-43 inches
